Project Management & PPE
Project Management & PPE Requirements
Tab 4 of the creation wizard covers project management text sections and PPE requirements. This tab captures all site-specific management arrangements that define how the project will operate safely and efficiently.
Project Management Sections
Each section is presented as a textarea field allowing detailed free-text input. These sections form the core management content of the phase plan document and appear prominently in the generated PDF.
- Security & Access — site security arrangements, access control procedures, keyholding responsibilities, and restricted area protocols
- Parking & Loading — vehicle access routes, loading bay procedures, parking allocations, and traffic management on site
- Power Supply Requirements — electrical power arrangements, generator provisions, distribution board locations, and earthing requirements
- Structural Requirements — load-bearing capacities, rigging point specifications, floor loading limits, and structural engineering sign-off needs
- Plant Requirements — cranes, forklifts, cherry pickers, and other mechanical plant required on site, including operator certification
- Vehicles & Transport — on-site vehicle management, reversing procedures, pedestrian segregation, and speed restrictions
- Venue Restrictions — noise limits, curfew times, heritage building rules, and any venue-specific constraints
- Welfare Facilities — toilet provisions, rest areas, drinking water access, first aid facilities, and shelter arrangements
- Training Requirements — mandatory training courses, site-specific inductions, and competency card requirements (e.g. CSCS, IPAF, PASMA)
- Information Security — data protection obligations, confidential information handling, photography restrictions, and NDA requirements
- Event Sustainability — environmental considerations, carbon reduction measures, sustainable material sourcing, and energy efficiency targets
- Waste Disposal — waste management procedures, recycling arrangements, hazardous waste handling, and disposal contractor details
PPE Requirements Grid
The PPE section uses the PPEGrid component — a visual grid of toggle checkboxes for each PPE type. Selecting a checkbox indicates that the corresponding PPE item is mandatory for all personnel on site.
Standard PPE Types
| PPE Item | Description |
|---|---|
| Safety Footwear | Steel-toe or composite-toe boots meeting EN ISO 20345 standards |
| Hard Hat | Industrial safety helmet for overhead hazard protection |
| High-Vis Vest | High-visibility vest or jacket for visual identification on site |
| Fall Protection | Harness and lanyard system for working at height |
| Hearing Protection | Ear defenders or earplugs for noise-exposed environments |
| Face Mask | Respiratory protection for dust, fumes, or airborne particles |
| Sun Cream | UV protection for outdoor work during daylight hours |
| Outdoor Wear | Weatherproof clothing for rain, wind, or cold conditions |
| Safety Gloves | Protective gloves appropriate to the task (cut-resistant, chemical, thermal) |
PPE Other Field
Below the standard grid, a free-text field labelled PPE Other allows you to specify any additional PPE items not covered by the standard options. Examples include safety goggles, knee pads, or specialist respiratory equipment.
Required PPE Computed Accessor
The model provides a requiredPpe computed accessor that returns an array of selected PPE labels. This accessor is used by both the Show page and the PDF generator to display the final list of mandatory PPE items.
Display on Show Page and PDF
On the Show page, each required PPE item is displayed as a chip with an accompanying icon. The PDF includes a dedicated PPE section with the same icon set, making it immediately clear to all crew members which equipment they must bring to site.
Tips
- Complete every project management section — blank sections will appear as empty in the PDF and may indicate poor planning to reviewers
- Be specific about venue restrictions, as these are often the most common source of on-site disputes
- Always select the minimum required PPE for the site, then add extras for specialist tasks in the PPE Other field
- Review PPE requirements against the hazards selected in Tab 5 to ensure consistency
