Project Detail Page
The project detail page is your command centre for a single booking. It brings together every aspect of the project — equipment, crew, transport, financials, documents, and communication — into a twenty-two-tab interface. From here you can manage the complete lifecycle of a rental job without ever leaving the page.
Page header
The header bar at the top of the project detail page displays the following elements:
- Project name — The full name of the project displayed as the page title
- Project number — The auto-generated reference (e.g., PROJ-2025-0001) displayed as a subtitle beneath the project name
- Status badge — A colour-coded badge showing the current project status (purple for Inquiry, blue for Quote, green for Confirmed, and so on)
- Type indicator chip — A chip showing either Main Project or Sub-Project to indicate the project’s position in the hierarchy
- Sub-project navigation dropdown — On parent projects, a dropdown lets you switch directly between the parent and any of its child sub-projects without returning to the list. On sub-projects, the dropdown includes a link back to the parent.
Header actions
Three action buttons sit in the header:
- Edit Project — Open the project in full edit mode
- Print Summary — Generate a printable PDF summary of the project including key details, equipment lists, crew assignments, and financial totals
- Share — Share the project with team members or external stakeholders
Core tabs
The project detail page features seventeen core tabs that cover every aspect of the booking. Tabs are displayed in a horizontal tab bar below the header, with overflow tabs accessible via a scroll or dropdown on smaller screens.
- Overview — A read-only project information table showing client, client PO number, venue (with a “Client Address” chip when using the client’s address), full address, template (displayed as a chip with the template icon and colour), dates, current status, priority, notes, and internal notes. This is the landing tab when you open a project.
- Equipment — Browse and add equipment to the project using the sidebar browser, set quantities, override pricing, apply discounts, and track equipment status through the booking lifecycle.
- Subrentals — Manage equipment sourced from external suppliers for this project, including supplier selection, subrental status tracking, and delivery/collection dates. A badge count on the tab shows the number of subrental items.
- Crew — Assign crew members to the project with job roles, quantities, time schedules, and rate configuration.
- Transport — Plan transport requirements for moving equipment between warehouse and venue.
- Crew Scheduling — A dedicated timeline and planner view for visualising crew assignments across time periods, identifying scheduling conflicts, and optimising crew utilisation.
- Transport Planning — Detailed transport planning view with vehicle assignments, routes, loading sequences, and delivery schedules.
- Load Planning — Plan how equipment is loaded into vehicles with weight distribution, volume calculations, and load-order sequencing.
- Additional Costs — Add miscellaneous line items not covered by equipment or crew, such as fuel, accommodation, venue fees, or insurance surcharges.
- Financial — View and manage quotes, invoices, credit notes, and payment tracking. This tab is permission-gated behind the can_view_project_financials permission and is hidden entirely on sub-projects because all financial documents are managed on the parent project, where sub-project costs roll up automatically.
- Sub-Projects — Create and manage child projects within the current parent project. Each sub-project has independent equipment, crew, and transport but shares the parent’s client and financials. This tab is visible only on parent projects and displays a badge count of child sub-projects.
- Purchase Orders — Create and track purchase orders for subrented equipment and consumables required by the project.
- Documents — Upload and manage project-related files such as site plans, technical riders, risk assessments, and signed contracts.
- Threads — Internal discussion threads for team communication about the project. Threads support mentions, file attachments, and are fully searchable.
- Timeline — A visual timeline view showing the project’s key events and milestones in chronological order.
- Management — Project settings, milestones, and checklists for the project team. Manage internal deadlines and track milestone completion.
- History — A complete audit trail of every change made to the project, including who made the change, what was changed, and when it happened.
Recurring project tab
- Occurrences — View and manage individual instances of a recurring project. Each occurrence can be edited independently while maintaining a link to the recurring parent template. This tab is visible only on recurring parent projects and displays a badge count of generated occurrences.
Addon tabs
If your subscription includes paid addon modules, additional tabs appear alongside the core tabs. These tabs are visible only when the corresponding addon module is active on your subscription:
- Phase Planning — Break the project into construction phases with dependencies, milestones, and Gantt chart visualisation. Displays a badge count of defined phases.
- RAMS — Create and manage Risk Assessments and Method Statements directly within the project context
- CDM 2015 — Construction Design and Management compliance documentation, roles, and notifications
- Site Maps — Upload floor plans or site maps, plot equipment positions, and create visual layouts for the venue. Displays a badge count of uploaded maps.
Tab visibility rules
Not all tabs are visible on every project. NexusRMS applies the following visibility rules to keep the interface clean and relevant:
- Financial tab — Hidden on sub-projects. All financial documents are managed on the parent project.
- Sub-Projects tab — Visible only on parent projects. Standard projects and sub-projects do not display this tab.
- Occurrences tab — Visible only on recurring parent projects. Standard and sub-projects do not display this tab.
- Addon tabs — Visible only when the corresponding addon module is active on your subscription. If an addon is not enabled, its tab does not appear.
Tips
- Use the sub-project navigation dropdown — When working on a multi-stage event, the dropdown in the header lets you jump between parent and child projects instantly without returning to the list page.
- Check the Overview tab for a quick summary — The Overview table gives you all key project details at a glance, including the template used and venue information.
- Check the History tab for audit trails — If something looks wrong on a project, the History tab shows exactly who changed what and when, making it easy to trace and resolve issues.
- Look for badge counts on tabs — Tabs like Subrentals, Sub-Projects, Occurrences, Phase Planning, and Site Maps display badge counts so you can see at a glance how much content exists without clicking into each tab.
